I set some goals for 2017. One of my goal was to get a 4.0 this semester. I made this goal to really
motivate myself to try hard this semester. I am lucky to get a fresh start this semester at UNCW. I really
need to start my first semester off on a good start, because I know my next semesters will be more
difficult. Another one of my goal is to make new friends at UNCW. So far, I am on track to a 4.0 and I
have made some new friends. I find it easier living off campus to compared to last year I lived on campus
to stay up with my school work. Most of the time last year we would have too much fun at the dorms
with my friends and not spending enough time on school work. Also, I work better when it is quiet. I
found that living in the dorms were loud and distracting when it came to getting important school work
done. A personal goal I would like to set is to learn how to surf. Back in Ohio I would snowboard when it
was cold out, but you can’t snowboard down here. Hopefully it won’t be too hard to learn to surf. There
is a surfing club I would be interested in joining. Another personal goal is to make some money over the
summer. I am thinking of starting to do lawn mowing or work at a store. My plan of action for these
goals is to go out there and doing them and making them a pattern of day daily activities. Maybe I can
surf every other day once it starts to get warm out to improve every day. When it comes to me finishing
this semester with a 4.0 I must put in a few more hours of studying everyday week to make sure that I
am spending enough time to prepare for tests and final exams. Overall I believe that I will be able to
achieve the few goals that I set as long as I say focused and persistent.
