1. How would you describe or explain what the 4 C’s are all about?
I would say that the 4 C’s are about teaching students to become the best possible
versions of themselves.
2. Why are the 4 C’s important to education and your classroom?
The 4 C’s are important to education because they can develop a variety of different
skills and can help a student grow within themselves and with other people. Using the 4
C’s in a classroom can create a healthy environment with students who are willing to
learn and put in the work. I think that it’s important to use the 4 C’s so that you don’t get
stuck into the same routine over and over. I liked what one of the articles had to say
about this. Without using the 4 C’s and incorporating them into your classroom, you
could fall into a silly routine without getting your students involved and engaged.
3. In your own words, define and describe each of the following:
a. Creativity- being able to think for yourself in a way that is different and unique
b. Critical Thinking- analyzing information that you have been giving
c. Communication- talking to people around you and that you know. This could be face to
face or over some form of technology
d. Collaboration- using the information that you have been giving and analyzing it further.
After analyzing, then you discuss it with your peers to see what they have analyzed.
4. Describe something that you have done in another class for each of the 4 C’s:
a. Creativity– Being able to come up with my own fantasy story for Creative Writing
b. Critical Thinking-Thinking about why problems are the way that they are in my Algebra
class. Asking questions like how did I get this answer? Why is my answer right or
wrong?
c. Communication– Sharing out answers in my Field Experience class just with the perosn
sitting next to us. No collaborating, just sharing simply answers!
d. Collaboration- In my Child Development class our group had to all read a long article.
When we got together in class we all discussed what the article was about and
exchanged thoughts.
