It’s a vicious cycle. The current state of things (no matter the era), is a result from
something that happened in history. As one of the speakers in the documentary stated, your
future is based on what choices your ancestors made, if you’re white; your future is based on
what was chosen for your ancestors, if you’re black. This statement is so powerfully accurate.
Because of the film, I think of the early history in our nation, specifically the slavery that
happened for hundreds of years, which created such divisions in the culture and a change of
what people thought about others and how people lived in our country, etc. Our country was
established as an elitist nation, and parents raised their kids to be like them, and generation
