Firstly,​ ​Nate​ ​and​ ​Serena​ ​violate​ ​the​ ​Biblical​ ​purpose​ ​for​ ​which​ ​God​ ​intended​ ​marriage​ ​to
prosper​ ​by​ ​not​ ​maintaining​ ​communication​ ​or​ ​even​ ​contact​ ​with​ ​one​ ​another.​ ​​ ​How​ ​can​ ​a
husband​ ​and​ ​wife​ ​expect​ ​their​ ​relationship​ ​to​ ​flourish​ ​when​ ​they​ ​rarely​ ​spend​ ​time,​ ​let​ ​alone
converse​ ​with​ ​one​ ​another?​ ​​ ​Genesis​ ​2:23-24​ ​advocates​ ​the​ ​idea​ ​that​ ​a​ ​man​ ​should​ ​leave​ ​his
father​ ​and​ ​mother​ ​in​ ​order​ ​to​ ​become​ ​“one​ ​flesh”​ ​with​ ​his​ ​wife.​ ​​ ​Yet,​ ​this​ ​ordinance​ ​cannot​ ​be
upheld​ ​if​ ​the​ ​couple​ ​still​ ​acts​ ​as​ ​though​ ​they​ ​are​ ​living​ ​separate​ ​lives​ ​from​ ​one​ ​another.​ ​​ ​​ ​Even
though​ ​Nate​ ​works​ ​70​ ​hours​ ​a​ ​week​ ​in​ ​order​ ​to​ ​provide​ ​for​ ​his​ ​family,​ ​he​ ​has​ ​become​ ​not​ ​only
physically​ ​distant,​ ​but​ ​emotionally​ ​remote​ ​from​ ​them.​ ​​ ​Moreover,​ ​Serena​ ​has​ ​chosen​ ​not​ ​to
utilize​ ​loving​ ​suggestions,​ ​but​ ​to​ ​complain​ ​and​ ​“nag”​ ​to​ ​Nate​ ​about​ ​his​ ​lack​ ​of​ ​leadership​ ​in​ ​the
home​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​his​ ​inability​ ​to​ ​spend​ ​quality​ ​time​ ​with​ ​their​ ​children.
Additionally,​ ​Nate​ ​and​ ​Serena​ ​have​ ​both​ ​gone​ ​outside​ ​of​ ​their​ ​marriage​ ​bounds​ ​in​ ​order
to​ ​seek​ ​some​ ​form​ ​of​ ​intimacy​ ​or​ ​emotional​ ​support.​ ​​ ​The​ ​combination​ ​of​ ​Nate’s​ ​long​ ​work
hours​ ​away​ ​from​ ​his​ ​wife​ ​and​ ​his​ ​desire​ ​for​ ​an​ ​intimate​ ​relationship​ ​led​ ​him​ ​to​ ​have​ ​an​ ​affair
with​ ​his​ ​secretary.​ ​​ ​His​ ​guilt​ ​reading​ ​this​ ​issue​ ​has​ ​only​ ​prompted​ ​him​ ​even​ ​further​ ​to​ ​not
converse​ ​with​ ​his​ ​wife​ ​about​ ​emotional​ ​issues.​ ​​ ​Accordingly,​ ​Serena​ ​has​ ​chosen​ ​to​ ​complain​ ​to
